The following projects are
some examples of the types of repairs Justin has made to clients' sculptures.
If you have a sculpture that is need of repair, contact
us for information about this service.
The arm, ankle,
and drapery of this brass sculpture had been broken. Justin repaired
the damage and retouched the patina for the repaired areas, matching
the original patina.
The finish of
this bronze sculpture, along with several others, had been damaged
by chemically treated water in a fountain.
This
bronze figure had broken off its base and needed a light cleaning.
Justin reattached the figure to its bicycle and base. He also cleaned
and lightly waxed the sculpture to bring the original patina back
to life.
This
bronze eagle was a family heirloom and needed to be restored. Justin
reattached the eagle to its leg and base. The finished piece will
be on display at the client's upcoming open house for his family to
see.
The neck of
this bronze sculpture made in 1918 had a serious crack in it. Justin
repaired the damage and applied a new patina, matching the original
patina as closely as possible.
The arm of this
bronze sculpture of a ballerina had broken off and the other arm
and leg had sustained fractures. Justin repaired the damage and
applied a new patina to the whole sculpture.
Both antlers
on this sculpture by Dr. Seuss (Ted Geisel) had been damaged. Both
tips were broken off and each antler had been cracked and chipped
at various points.
Justin repaired
the damage and spot matched the color to the repaired areas to restore
the sculpture to its original condition.
This nearly
3' tall hot glass sculpture was severely damaged and needed to be
repaired. Justin carefully joined dozens of glass pieces together
to return the sculpture to its original shape. He then created a
delicate bronze drape that flows around the figure to conceal the
repair.
This
bronze sculpture had a deep gash in the chin and minor scratches on
the torso.
Justin repaired the damage and applied a new patina, matching the
original as closely as possible.
The
patina on this bronze sculpture by Wilfred Boettiger had darkened
over time. The artist asked Justin to apply a new golden finish to
the sculpture to enhance the beauty of this delicate figure.
Justin removed the old patina and applied a hand-rubbed hot wax finish
to the piece.
